Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs472.55m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today Tuesday 30-06-2009 peaked at 472.55 millions, of which sales exceeded Dhs143.71m.

The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs328.84m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 9 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in Al Barshaa South Third that was sold for Dhs18.8928m.

The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Al Jadaf acquired for the sum of Dhs13.06236m and another in Palm Jumeirah for Dhs6.5m.

The Ranches area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 2 transactions. Al Barsha Third followed it with 1 sales.

During the period, Al Barshaa South Third recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs18.89m, followed by the Al Jadaf area, Dhs13.06m, and Palm Jumeirah area, Dhs6.5m.

The biggest area sold was the 60457 sq ft in the Al Barshaa South Third area, which went for Dhs18.89m. A 17637 sq ft plot in the Nad Al Shiba Area was acquired for Dhs5.51m, while 15000 sq ft of Al Barsha Third was disposed of for Dhs3.23m.

During the period under review 26 mortgages worth Dhs315.26m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs239.18m for an area at Al Barshaa South Second. There was another for Dhs21.1m on an area in Al Safouh Second Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 78 sales transaction out of which 74 were for apartments for a total of Dhs71.41m and 4 for villas at a total sum of Dhs8.45m.

A total of 6 mortgages for Dhs5.53m were registered on villas and apartments.
