The two day event was hosted at two locations to minimize travel by customers - Al Hamra Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah and Cassells Ghantoot Hotel in Abu Dhabi, last month. Attendees included members of the construction, petroleum and power sectors.
"This seminar was created in an effort to engage with members of vital industries to the UAE, some of whom are existing business partners, whilst also creating an avenue where interested parties can gain useful insight into how ExxonMobil supports such industries with products and services tailored to very specific needs,"
said Mr. Sonamuthu Gunaseelan, General Manager of EMA Lubricants Company Ltd.
Mr. Akram Reda, Industrial Marketing Advisor at ExxonMobil for Africa and Middle East region, and Mr. Ernest Engmann, Field Engineer at EMMEM, both presented at the seminar, which focused on power industry services and Mobil products designed specifically to support the sector.
"As a world leader in producing high-performance lubricants for heavy industries, ExxonMobil was keen to actively participate in this seminar in which we presented products that we believe are extremely beneficial to any industry that uses them. DTE 700 and 800 Series and Pegasus 805 and 1005, the products we are showcasing, have performed exceptionally well under extensive testing," said Mr. Akram Reda.
Formulated with carefully selected basestocks and additives, Mobil DTE 700 is designed for use in light and moderate-duty gas turbines, and steam turbines. DTE 700 meets or exceeds major industry specifications for gas and steam turbine oils, including those of Alstom, GE and Siemens. It has demonstrated exceptional demulsibility retention, oxidation stability and deposit control, some of the most important performance characteristics for turbine oils.
Mobil Pegasus 1005 is formulated with the highest quality basestocks and advanced additive technology, and is designed to provide high output, low-emission four-cycle gas engines with exceptional levels of protection whilst delivering superior performance for older model engines.
Tested in the field for more than 40,000 hours, Mobil Pegasus 1005 has proven that it provides outstanding anti-wear characteristics while maintaining compatibility with catalytic converter materials.
Topics covered during the seminar included the fundamentals of lubricants and specialties, gas engine oils, and a detailed discussion on services offered by ExxonMobil such as Signum Oil Analysis.
"Maximizing benefit for industries is one of the targets we all share, and Signum Oil Analysis is a perfect reflection of this. This service will test equipment, lubrication and much more, telling users how to optimize performance, ensure peak efficiency, provide equipment with a longer lifespan and detect possible problem areas before they escalate," said Mr. Ernest Engmann.
