Holdal integrates its third facility on the Infor WM Solution with SNS

Holdal is one of the leading distributors and retailers of Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Fashion and Accessories in Lebanon.

Holdal stores its stock in multiple facilities in a single site based on the category and brand of the products.

The latest go-live was completed in the Perfumes and Cosmetics facility which stores a range of high value products including brands such as: Kenzo, Max Mara, Trussardi, Benetton, Morgan, Iceberg, Yves Rocher and others.

The number of shelve locations in this facility exceeds 2,400 due to small size and high number of SKUs. In addition to perfumes and cosmetics, the SKUs also include fashion items for which the barcode can differ by a single character based on the color or size of garments.

SNS' implementation strategy, which is structured around the maximum knowledge transfer to the client, ensured that this third go-live was completed in less than 2 weeks including stock count. The solution provides this new facility with proper first-in first-out rotation and the task directed cluster picking process critical for this type of operation.

Directed cluster picking allows the warehouse users to pick multiple small size orders in a single pick route and into different totes minimizing order fulfillment time and eliminating the need for sorting. The level of stock tracking available in this best of breed solution ensures a high stock accuracy in an environment of high value items.

Holdal's requirement of maintaining a separate stock for liquidation items was catered for using the warehouse transfer functionality that synchronizes the shipping and receiving processes and the ability of the system to maintain multiple facilities on the same database.

The solution also included integration of Infor WM with Great Plains ERP same as for the other facilities. This integration minimizes document processing time, guarantees systems integrity and streamlines warehouse operations.
