"During the conference, the organizing team spent a great deal of time discussing with delegates the kinds of skills needed by modern business women in Oman to enable them to progress with their personal aspirations and achieve their goals within the often restrictive framework of the business environment"
commented Salma Al-Hashmi, Managing Director of Envent.
"One of the main areas where it was felt that business women needed help in developing both their knowledge and skills was in finance and so we decided to run this workshop tailored to meet the specific requirements of those wishing to set up in business on their own" she continued.
Entitled Financial Management for Non-Financials, the workshop will be presented by Dr. Leonie Jooste, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Accounting and Finance at the University of Wollongong in Dubai. Dr. Jooste, who is a financial accounting expert in her own right, also has extensive experience of running workshops of this kind.
She will make aspects of financial accounting the focus of the workshop on the first day and will turn to the broader subject of management accounting on the second day. It is envisaged that at the end of the workshop, attendees will leave equipped with the skills and knowledge to manage the finances of a small business.
