Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs263.98m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today July 01, 2009 peaked at Dhs263.98m, of which sales exceeded Dhs174.93m.
A total of 8 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in Emirates Hills Third that was sold for Dhs13.25m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Palm Jumeirah acquired for the sum of Dhs7.4m and another in Al Ruwayyah for Dhs6.900075m.
The Emirates Hills Third area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 4 transactions. Al Barsha Second followed it with 1 sales.
During the period, Emirates Hills Third recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs24.44m, followed by the Palm Jumeirah area, Dhs7.4m, and Al Ruwayyah area, Dhs6.9m.
The biggest area sold was the 30330 sq ft in the Al Ruwayyah area, which went for Dhs6.9m. A 15922.77 sq ft plot in the Emirates Hills Third Area was acquired for Dhs6m, while 15922.77 sq ft of Emirates Hills Third was disposed of for Dhs13.25m.
During the period under review 25 mortgages worth Dhs53.65m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs24m for an area at Mankhool. There was another for Dhs7.73m on an area in Muhaisanah Fourth.
Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 89 sales transaction out of which 83 were for apartments for a total of Dhs101.20m and 6 for villas at a total sum of Dhs8.91m.
A total of 14 mortgages for Dhs21.62m were registered on villas and apartments.
