As the world's largest express transportation company, FedEx Express was honored with the award after proving its commitment to both customers and partners alike.
"MELA highlights outstanding contributors in express transportation and promotes healthy competition that ultimately benefits customers throughout the region. The awards provide an environment where achievements are recognized. They encourage innovation in a very competitive industry,"
said Hamdi Osman, senior vice president, FedEx Express Europe, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.
This award comes in addition to FedEx recognition as one of the best 100 companies to work for, according to a report published in FORTUNE magazine recently. This year, FedEx was the recipient of the prestigious Sheikh Mohammed Bin Al Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award for both the Supply Chain & Logistics and Corporate Social Responsibility categories.
The company also received an "Excellence in Leadership" certificate at the Dubai Quality Awards 2009, in recognition of its position in Dubai's business sector and for adopting a culture of continuous improvement.
