Noble Denton appoints renewables group Director

Noble Denton, the leading global offshore engineering and marine services company, today announces the appointment of Ian Bonnon as group Director, renewables.

Mr Bonnon, will develop the renewables business globally and will report directly to group Managing Director, John Wishart.

This strategically important role reflects Noble Denton's intention to secure significant worldwide market share in the provision of engineering, consultancy and project management services to the renewables industry.

Over the last ten years, Mr Bonnon has led the development of the UK renewables business within Noble Denton and this new role underlines the company's commitment to this emerging sector. Noble Denton will continue to invest in this area, as well as drawing on its workforce's considerable transferrable experience from the offshore oil and gas sector.

Noble Denton's renewables expertise has already attracted the company's largest ever contract award - providing project management services on the Thanet Offshore Wind Farm project worth in the region of $32m (Dhs119m).

Mr Bonnon has more than 28 years' experience in the oil and gas, renewable energy, marine and subsea cable industries. He joined BOMEL in 1998 as engineering manager and in 2003 he was appointed to the position of director of engineering and projects.

In 2004, following the acquisition of BOMEL by Noble Denton, he was appointed as Managing Director of BOMEL. In 2008, Mr Bonnon was appointed to the role of Europe southern operations director in Noble Denton.
