Ikea Kuwait launches summer internship program 2009

Ikea Kuwait - the globally renowned Swedish home furnishings chain - has re-launched its annual summer internship program for 50 promising Kuwaiti youth in association with the Government's Manpower Restructuring Program.

Now in its fifth year, the internship program gave interns an opportunity to acquire hands-on knowledge of key functions across Ikea Kuwait's business divisions.

"Interns from last year's summer training program showed a high aptitude for learning new skills and were a pleasure to host on the Ikea Kuwait premises. This year, we are glad to partner with the government's human resources program to give talented youth an opportunity to learn about Ikea's long-standing global best practices and realize their inherent potential."

To be held from June till end of August 2009, the training program will familiarize interns with various functions in communications, sales, interior design and customer service. Interns will receive a monetary award and certificate upon successful completion the program.

Ikea Kuwait is a socially responsible organization and caters for the benefit of the community in which it operates and supporting Government's Manpower Restructuring Program, LOYAC Talent Development Programs and many other community development initiatives is a testimony of the gratitude to the people of Kuwait for their trust in Ikea since over 25 years.
