Coral Residence Tower Fujairah continues to be upbeat despite the slowdown in tourism

  • PRESS RELEASE

A slowdown in international tourism could have a positive impact in Fujairah, where the Coral Residence Tower Fujairah anticipates an increase in internal and GCC leisure business.

The hotel's general manager Elie Tohme commented: "Admittedly the leisure tourism market is going through a tough time at the moment, with swine flu and the economic downturn.

"But we foresee these same reasons actually strengthening tourism, both internally and from nearby countries. So this situation will definitely benefit Fujairah."

The hotel's occupancy has maintained rates of 75-80% so far this year, due to its loyal long-term segment as well as a high volume of business travelers, who appreciate the property's convenient location close to Fujairah International Airport and the World Trade Centre.

Tohme added that although the emirate's corporate business would drop over the summer, he expected it to increase significantly from October.

"Business travel will remain high due to the big projects coming up in Fujairah: the powerplant, the pipeline and the positioning of the emirate as a premier shipping port,"

he said.

CRTF is offering several promotions to drive business over the summer months, including deals for Mazaya club members, for walk-in guests and over Ramadan.

"We are now the official hotel of the Fujairah Tennis Country Club," added Tohme. "This means that our guests can enjoy the benefits of our ties to this excellent sporting establishment."
