Husam Al Sayed, General Manager for Human Resources, Wasl, said:
"Through this initiative, Wasl aims to carry through the vision and commitment of Dubai's leadership towards its drive to create a knowledge-based economy. We also aim to encourage and inspire young UAE nationals to become competent and confident professionals at the workplace."
Fresh Emirati high school graduates who have scored at least 85% in their school leaving examinations will be eligible to apply for the scholarship. In addition to fulfilling the admission criteria of the American University in Dubai, as part of the selection process, applicants will be required to go through an intensive assessment with Wasl. The deadline for the submission of applications is 15 July for the September 2009 intake.
