Moussa El Hayek, CEO of Al Bustan Centre & Residence, said:
"The campaign was very successful as we roped in our staff and management as well in the planting activity and made them aware of the green issues. The property has already initiated a number of environmentally friendly programmes such as the Clean-Up Drive and other water and energy conservation plans. Through such campaigns we wish to reiterate the message of recycling and conservation of the city's resources."
He added the campaign is also aimed at creating more awareness among public and appreciate the need for trees in the environment. "By planting more trees, we wish to create a holistic green environment in the city but mobilizing people is essential. Such drives will promote the restoration of the natural ecology of the country through forestation and help reduce the effects of global warming, thus moving towards creating an environmentally friendly society where people harmoniously co-exist with nature."
Moussa hoped that the campaign will expand throughout the country and encourage more and more people to be involved in tree planting activities in their communities to preserve nature and nurture precious forests for future generations.
