As Qatar's first major medical and healthcare event, the Q-MEDEC Exhibition provides the ideal platform for medical equipment manufacturers, pharmaceutical suppliers, tele-medicine and healthcare information system suppliers, medical booksellers, medical colleges and all health-related companies eager to grab a share of the $16bn Qatari healthcare market.
Meanwhile the groundbreaking 4-day Q-MEDEC Congress - featuring respected medical speakers from more than 20 countries - provides unrivalled continuous medical education and training in the form of seminars, workshops and discussions, gets underway on Sunday 13 December 2009.
Highlighting the State of Qatar's unequivocal commitment to world class healthcare and education, interest among leading medical education institutions keen to claim space in the Q-MEDEC Education Pavilion has been intense. Already Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Sidra Medical and Research Center and Qatar University College of Pharmacy have confirmed their participation in the 5-day Q-MEDEC Exhibition.
Booking's for the inaugural Q-MEDEC Exhibition have been phenomenal with leading Qatari and international healthcare organizations. The major players in the Qatari healthcare sector will be present: Hamad Medical Corporation, Sidra Medical and Research Center and Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar to name just three," commented Georges Saliba, Qatar Expo Q-MEDEC Project Manager.
Funded by a Qatar Foundation endowment, Sidra Medical and Research Center is the largest healthcare project ever in the Gulf Region and the largest endowment of a medical and research centre anywhere in the world.
"Qatar's healthcare systems are undergoing fundamental changes. These result in new challenges for medical professionals and everyone involved in the industry concerning new trends and ways of thinking. Q-MEDEC will be an important step in assisting the Qatari medical industry to evolve to meet these challenges,"
says Dr Abdulwahab Al Musleh, Vice-Chairman for the Q-MEDEC Organizing Committee.
Despite the economic slowdown, healthcare investment in Qatar continues uninterrupted with a mixture of public, private and joint-venture initiatives gathering pace and attracting record levels of investment.
"We expect exhibition space to get fully booked quickly. So we encourage companies offering innovative solutions for Qatar's medical and healthcare projects to act fast," adds Qatar Expo's Georges Saliba.
