Dubal wins 'Best Exporter' Award at MELA 2009

Dubai Aluminium Company Limited (Dubal), the world's largest modern smelter with a captive power station received the 2009 Best Exporter Award in the Shippers category of the 3rd Annual Middle East Logistics Awards (MELA 2009).

The accolade, presented during a gala event on 30 June 2009, recognises the aluminium giant's outstanding contribution to the logistics industry in the region through its large scale shipping activities.

According to the organisers, MELA benchmarks and celebrates performance excellence in the Middle East logistics industry and recognises the top performers for their achievements.

The annual MELA winners are determined by the Middle East community in a decision-making two-stage process of nominating and voting for their choice of companies or individuals, based in and operating in the Middle East Region, that have set new benchmarks in the industry.

MELA 2009 awarded 22 awards in various categories, collectively recognising the accomplishments of the top-performing organisations and individuals.

Sultan Al Sabri, Senior Manager, Marketing & Sales: Europe & North America), who received the award on behalf of Dubal, says:
