With work progressing at record speed, building block works and finishing works are expected to be completed by September, with the entire project ready for delivery on schedule by December 2009.

It is expected that two show apartments will be on display for customer viewing by the end of this month.

So far, electrical wiring, plumbing, air-conditioning and water have been connected and interior painting is underway. The windows and doors are expected to be fixed before the end of the summer and the exterior painting of the building will be completed in September.

Mr. R Lakshmanan, CEO of Sakana said:

"We are proud to be approaching the completion of the 'Nasmah' Tower which is forging ahead swiftly despite the economic slowdown. From the beginning the project has progressed at a steady pace which has led to the construction being on schedule. This reflects on Nasmah Tower as an extremely attractive proposition as a result of our pricing strategy and consumers' need for quality and affordable apartments."

Mr Ishaq Al Kooheji, President and CEO of R M K Projects said: "We are delighted that our first venture with Sakana has been a great success. While the construction activity may have scaled down across the country and the region, Nasmah has nevertheless progressed. The continuous support and prompt payment of instalments by property owners has paved the way for Nasmah to move forward with confidence and thereby fulfill its commitment to investors."

"Nasmah" generated considerable interest with the entire tower being sold within weeks of the sales launch. Regular updates are provided to customers to follow the real-time progress of their investment by dialling up a designated number using a video call from a 3G mobile phone.

"Nasmah" - which means "a breath of fresh air" in Arabic - is an affordable freehold apartment tower consisting of 120, 2-bedroom apartments, each with a balcony and offering either city or seaside views. The building has a rooftop swimming pool, a fully-equipped fitness centre, squash court, event hall and other amenities.
