Samena Telecommunications Council gets new President

Samena Telecommunications Council, the multi-continent telecom consortium has announced two new changes to their management.

Mr. Bocar A. Ba, Senior Vice-President of membership and committees of Samena has been appointed President. Additionally, Mr. Ghassan Hasbani, Partner in Booz and Company has been elected the Chairman of the 'Strategic Marketing Committee' by Samena's Board.

As senior vice president of membership and committees, Mr. Bocar A. Ba was responsible for generating interest in Samena and his immense capability to build consensus in collaborative activities regarding telecommunications in the region has really impressed and attracted the Boards attention.

Mr. Ba's new expanded role as President of Samena will include leading the management of all the Council's meetings and continuing Samena's research efforts and intellectual property of all telecom institutions in South Asia, Middle East and North Africa with collective efforts from all members and committees.

"Mr. Ba has repeatedly proven his passion for Samena's vision and his continued leadership and participation in driving Samena member's interest is of great importance to the Council", said Thomas Wilson, CEO and Executive Managing Director, Samena.

Mr. Ghassan Hasbani, Partner with Booz & Company has been elected by the Board of Directors of Samena as the new Chairman of the "Strategic Marketing Committee" which is responsible for planning and providing guidance on external affairs to the Board of Directors on a regular basis.

Thomas added,

"Mr. Hasbani has been an integral part of Booz & Co's outstanding growth in the region and Samena is very pleased to have Mr. Hasbani chairing the strategic marketing committee and help drive it to great heights thereby bringing vision and leadership to the issues and activities that are most important to the Council."
