  • PRESS RELEASE

Comtrust, one of the region's leading e-business solutions providers and a business unit of UAE national telecom - Etisalat, is continuing the rapid expansion of its Comtrust Solutions Partner (CSP) programme, with the addition of Techlogix.

This brings the number of partners signed up in the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon and Pakistan to 10.

Techlogix is a global technology services company specializing in Enterprise Applications, B2Bi and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI). Founded in 1996, Techlogix has offices in Boston, Houston, Dubai and Lahore. Under the agreement signed, Techlogix will market and sell the comprehensive portfolio of e-solutions, offered by Comtrust.

Speaking after signing the deal, Ahmed Abdul Karim Julfar, General Manager, Comtrust said, "The e-business market in the Middle East is growing fast. Online payment transactions made through the Comtrust network in 2002 show a growth of 400% over 2001, giving a clear barometer of the developments made in the security and authorization of online technologies as well as the increasing faith of consumers in those advancements."

"Early in 2002 Comtrust made a strategic business decision to establish a network of CSPs in order to increase our market reach and we have since signed up several companies with an in-depth knowledge of the region's e-business market," he added.

"Techlogix brings to Comtrust extensive international experience and strong list of prospective clients," added Julfar. "As e-commerce grows in the Middle East, Comtrust in collaboration with Techlogix and our other CSPs, will be ideally placed to facilitate this growth by allowing more Middle East organisations to access our portfolio of industry leading solutions."

Techlogix have built important relationships with partners whose technology compliments their innovative eSolutions enabling them to deliver fully integrated, end-to-end eSolutions and services. Their list of partners includes IBM/GBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Adobe, Tejari and now Comtrust. Their existing client base contains Fortune 500 companies including General Electric, Nestlé, Mass Mutual Financial Group, Commerce One, Bank of America and MIT.

"We are excited to have been chosen by Comtrust as their solution partner commented Aamir Masood, Regional Manager, Techlogix. "We will work closely with Comtrust to offer complex change initiatives that deliver real value and tangible return on investment. Comtrust is a regional leader and together we will work to drive continued growth in e-commerce."

Based at Dubai Internet City (DIC), Techlogix is currently taking advantage of the world's first free trade zone, to enable e-business related enterprises to operate globally from a base in Dubai. Mr. Masood continued, "Dubai is going to play an intrinsic role in developing and transforming e-business throughout the Gulf, the Middle East, the Sub-continent and Africa. Our partnership with Comtrust will garner great results for both parties."

In addition to expansion of the CSP programme, Comtrust has invested heavily in state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated professional workforce to provide the backbone for e-business infrastructure in the Middle East.
