Vizada, and service provider partner SeaMobile Europe, have combined ThurayaIP with their own applications and solutions to provide a packaged service to the France24 news channel. This enables France24 reporters to perform high-quality live broadcasts, as well as send emails and use internet from remote locations.
France24 reporters use SeaMobile Europe's Media ClipWay end-to-end software solution in order to send live and pre-recorded film over the ThurayaIP terminal.
In addition, a new interconnection between Vizada's IP backbone and the Thuraya network enables Vizada to provide a more user-friendly service through its range of Vizada Solutions. With Vizada's Terralink Data Manager, users can set up personalized firewalls, monitor usage, and better manage access rights on data connectivity services. Vizada's Scratch & Web prepaid cards also provide multiple users fixed amounts of credit in megabytes for private communications, including emails and web-browsing.
During the development phase, Vizada worked closely with SeaMobile Europe and France24 reporters to ensure that the ThurayaIP service closely matched their requirements.
"I broadcast live from the Khmer Rouge trial in Cambodia and the image quality was exceptional, superior to any other system I have used previously,"
said Cyril Payen, South East Asia Bureau Chief with France24.
"The very high transmission speeds gave us a great deal of flexibility to zoom in and out, film movement, and generally provide us with first-class live broadcast. The fact that I can practically fit the terminal in my pocket is also a definite plus. ThurayaIP and the Media ClipWay solution enabled me to be the only reporter to broadcast live from inside the trial compound."
