The UAE's Ministry of Economy is setting up a special committee to monitor prices of goods during Ramadan to prevent overcharging, reported WAM news agency. Officials from the ministry met with major retailers on Tuesday to urge them to reduce prices during the holy month, which is usually a time when consumer spending rises as people stock up on food for the evenings and retailers offer special Ramadan foods.
