Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs285.36m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today Wednesday 08-07-2009 peaked at 285.36m, of which sales exceeded Dhs195.96m.

The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs89.40m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 8 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in Nad Al Shiba that was sold for Dhs36.77m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Emirates Hills Third acquired for the sum of Dhs12.334552m and another in Nad Al Shiba for Dhs7.102364m.

The Nad Al Shiba area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 3 transactions. Emirates Hills Third followed it with 2 sales.

During the period, Nad Al Shiba recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs44.84m, followed by the Emirates Hills Third area, Dhs15.97m, and Jumeirah First area, Dhs6.5m.

The biggest area sold was the 64482 sq ft in the Nad Al Shiba area, which went for Dhs36.77m. A 30724.62 sq ft plot in the Emirates Hills Third Area was acquired for Dhs3.63m, while 30724.62 sq ft of Emirates Hills Third was disposed of for Dhs12.33m.

During the period under review 21 mortgages worth Dhs39.86m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs16m for an area at Um Al Sheif. There was another for Dhs10m on an area in Emirates Hills Third Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 55 sales transaction out of which 52 were for apartments for a total of Dhs66.60m and 3 for villas at a total sum of Dhs5.7m.

A total of 6 mortgages for Dhs6.32m were registered on villas and apartments.
