The first batch of 35 students joined Alba on July 1, and they are presently deployed in different departments as part of their training. The second batch will begin their month-long training on August 1.
"It is a privilege for us to welcome these young and enthusiastic students to Alba for the summer training programme, and provide them with an insight into theoretical and practical understanding of working in a large industrial organisation such as Alba.
"Apart from their work in different departments, they will also receive training on business ethics and enterprise in action, learn about environmental issues and safety, coached on interview skills and writing their CV,"
remarked Alba HR & OD Manager, Bader Al khalifa.
Some of the departments involved in the summer training programme are internal audit, accounting, carbon, casthouse, marketing, environment, public relations and others.
At the end of the program, the trainees are expected to submit a report on the processes involved in the department in which they were assigned as well as explain any new points that they learned during the four week period of their training.
Alba has been consistently ranked as one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world and is known for its technological strength and innovative policies.
