Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs212.66m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today Sunday July 12, 2009 peaked at Dhs212.66m, of which sales exceeded Dhs123.82m.

The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs88.83m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 10 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in Emirates Hills Third that was sold for Dhs4.092m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Mirdif acquired for the sum of Dhs4m and another in Emirates Hills Third for Dhs3.3m.

The Emirates Hills Third area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 3 transactions. Sport City followed it with 2 sales.

During the period, Emirates Hills Third recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs8.72m, followed by the Mirdif area, Dhs4m, and Sport City area, Dhs3.37m.

The biggest area sold was the 29653.18 sq ft in the Emirates Hills Third area, which went for Dhs4.09m. A 15000 sq ft plot in the Nad Al Hamar Area was acquired for Dhs2.93m, while 10641.41 sq ft of Emirates Hills First was disposed of for Dhs2.1m.

During the period under review 31 mortgages worth Dhs34.63m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs9m for an area at Jumairah Village First. There was another for Dhs4.33m on an area in Emirates Hills Third.

Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 52 sales transaction out of which 44 were for apartments for a total of Dhs37.34m and 8 for villas at a total sum of Dhs17.03m.

A total of 14 mortgages for Dhs16.40m were registered on villas and apartments.
