The start-up library contains over 150 books of fiction, non-fiction and magazines, that were donated by the staff of Gulf Fidelity. The library will continue to grow throughout the year, and Gulf Fidelity expects to have over 500 books by the year end.
Mr. Pieter Botha said:
"It is extremely important that we as an international security services provider take care of our personnel. Our security guards are part of a team that is responsible for providing our clients exceptional service. Our belief is that, if we take care of our guards then, our guards will take care of our clients."
This is the first of many initiatives that Gulf Fidelity has planned for the year 2009 as part of their welfare program for their security guards. Other initiatives that are due to be launched later this year include a TV entertainment room and a gymnasium.
Gulf Fidelity is a joint venture between Kamber International Trading and Fidelity Security Services (Pty.) Ltd, based in South Africa. Fidelity Security Service has over 30,000 security guards worldwide. Gulf Fidelity Security Services has a presence in many sectors across UAE including mass retail, fashion retail, real estate, banking, commercial and residential complexes, universities and even warehouses.
They provide all their guards extensive training based on their functions and locations. Gulf Fidelity follows a stringent recruitment procedure and preference is given to persons that have a background in the army, police force or prior guarding experience. In the coming year Gulf Fidelity is expected to grow to over 1,500 guards across UAE.
