British Airways set to increase capacity on Jeddah route

Following the successful re-entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on June 1st, British Airways - the UK's flagship carrier - has announced it intends to increase capacity on its Jeddah service for the duration of the airline's winter schedule.

Running from October 31st 2009 - March 29th 2010, the airlines winter schedule will see a Boeing 777 operate the five weekly Jeddah flights, providing a 50% increase in premium seats which have been in high demand on this route.

Paolo De Renzis, British Airways' Area Commercial Manager Middle East, said:
"The uptake we have experienced during our first month of operations on both the Riyadh and Jeddah route has been extremely positive and our confidence in the Kingdom is demonstrated through our increased in capacity on our Jeddah service."


"Saudi Arabia continues to be a vitally important market for British Airways and we are positive that our award winning products and services along with our worldwide network of more than 150 destinations will continue to attract our customers in the Kingdom," added De Renzis.

For the duration of British Airways' summer schedule, which runs until the end of October, a 4-class Boeing 777 will operate the five weekly Riyadh flights, while a Boeing 767 will serve the five weekly Jeddah services.
