Toshiba's fastest-ever pocket PCs go on sale today this week, providing increased performance levels in all areas of operation.

The revolutionary Pocket PC e750 sets a new benchmark for top-end pocket PC technology - its high-performance processing power and on-board wireless LAN making it the ultimate productivity tool for mobile professionals.

With integrated wireless connectivity, the e750 enables users to go anywhere in their work environment and stay connected to the network at all times, and link to the Internet through wireless hot-spots while out of the office.

Its stablemate, the super-thin and ultra-portable e350 Pocket PC is billed as 'the ultimate low-budget personal assistant', keeping users organised, informed and entertained while on the move. At only 12.4mm thin and weighing less than 150g, the e350 is aimed at first-time or price-conscious buyers looking for enhanced capabilities.

Both new Toshiba Pocket PCs are powered by Intel's PXA255 applications processor that enables increased performance in application launching, MPEG decoding and web browsing. As with all of Toshiba's Pocket PCs, the e750 and e350 run on Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 operating system and carry Toshiba's exclusive two-year warranty.

"The two new pocket PCs are further evidence of Toshiba's commitment to mobility and innovation," said Ahmed Khalil, regional manager of Toshiba Middle East's computer systems division.

"By including the latest processing power and wireless technology, users have the ultimate in mobility, expandability, connectivity and performance from their mobile device.

"Toshiba is taking full advantage of the capabilities offered by the Intel PXA255 microarchitecture to help provide end-users with the innovative form factors and embedded wireless capabilities that they expect from today's advanced wireless devices."

The top-end e750 is just 16.9mm thick and weighs only 196g. It is suitable for high-speed web browsing, video streaming and viewing spreadsheets, and features cutting-edge graphics and audio and video technology.

With an increased screen size of 3.8" the TFT colour display it is also well suited to multimedia functions. In addition to the 32MB Flash ROM and 64MB RAM, the e750 has a 32MB NAND flash memory offering additional data reliability.

It is totally expandable with both Secure Digital (SD) and CompactFlash (CF-II) slots, and through the optional expansion pack, users can connect to a projector for presentations while meeting with customers, to a keyboard while in the office, or to an external monitor for easy viewing.

An optional extra is a high-capacity, advanced lithium-ion battery pack that enables work on multimedia applications or listening to MP3 files.

The ultra-portable e350 Pocket PC is also fully expandable via a built-in Secure Digital (SD) slot, and SD cards can be added for data transfer or to turn it into a video player or digital photo album. Information can be transferred wirelessly to other mobile devices via integrated InfraRed or an optional Bluetooth SD card.
