  • PRESS RELEASE

Emap Middle East Ltd. has today announced that it has added the Contax Market Intelligence (CMI) database, a web-based intelligence service which tracks and monitors energy, infrastructure and construction projects across the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) in to its suite of high value subscription products, in line with Emap's active growth strategy in the region.

The investment, that augments and adds additional value and functionality to Emap's existing MEED Projects product, the Middle East's premium project tracking database, reaffirms MEED Projects' market leader status in data information provision for the projects market throughout the MENA region.

Richard Baker, CEO Emap Middle East said, "In these tough times, it is essential that our customers continue to receive the most comprehensive and accurate project information in real time from a trusted source in order to be aware of, and be able to respond to, upcoming business opportunities. Maintaining a competitive advantage is paramount to business survival."

The investment in CMI, which follows careful analysis of the project tracking market and customer needs, further establishes Emap's regional presence as a trusted provider of B2B information.

MEED Projects is one element in the complementary suite of business products currently available under the MEED banner.

It will now be delivered by a dedicated team of over 30 researchers, journalists and business professionals currently tracking over 5000 live projects (min value $50m) throughout their lifecycle across the MENA region.

Baker continued, "Our investment in CMI is a real indication of our commitment to building our high value information business in the region and offering our customers greater focus and a more complete and value added suite of products. By making use of our analytical tools and expert project market knowledge, our customers are able to identify opportunities and plan more effectively and efficiently which in turn leads to better and more informed decision making."

The addition of CMI is in line with Emap's international growth strategy and works to the advantage of the entire Emap Middle East divisions, which include MEED Magazine, MEED Events, MEED Insight and AME Info.
