Jet Airways will operate its maiden flight on the sector aboard a state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft featuring personalized award winning in-flight entertainment on every seat, gourmet cuisine and world-class service at the hands of a warm and thoroughly professional cabin crew.
Flight 9W 521 will depart Jeddah at 0100 hrs with a full complement of passengers, and will arrive in Mumbai at 0835 hrs. On the return leg, flight 9W 522 will depart Mumbai at 2135 hrs, and will arrive in Jeddah at 0001 hrs.
Commenting on the inaugural flight, Mr. Fareed Al Alawi, Vice-President, Gulf & Middle East, Jet Airways, said:
"We are excited by the prospect of establishing direct links between India and one of the Middle East's key destinations. Jeddah is a major centre of trade and industry and has a vibrant market for both business and cultural passengers. Jeddah is Saudi Arabia's second largest city, as well as a commercial hub. It also holds great religious significance, as the principal gateway to Mecca, Islam's holiest city.
