  • PRESS RELEASE

SWISS International Air Lines, has announced a change to its Middle East schedule, with the cancellation of the Zurich-Abu Dhabi flight, with effect May 1, 2003.

"SWISS currently operates a return flight three times a week, Zurich-Abu Dhabi, however for commercial reasons we have decided to suspend this route. We will continue to serve the UAE with daily non-stop services between Zurich and Dubai, with the Airbus A330," said Felix Rodel, Area Manager for SWISS in the Arabian Gulf.

"Our Dubai flight enjoys good customer demand and figures prominently in our Middle East network. SWISS' other Middle East routes to and from Switzerland - Riyadh, Jeddah, Muscat, Cairo, Karachi and Tehran remain unchanged. Due to the current circumstances, we are closely monitoring the developments in the region on a day to day basis. We continue to regard the Middle East as a significant market within our global network," added Rodel.

SWISS customers from Abu Dhabi will be offered complimentary transfer to and from Dubai airport, at no extra charge, whether flying on economy, business or first class published fares.

From May 1, 2003, passengers already booked on flights to and from Abu Dhabi will be offered seats on the Dubai flights. SWISS offers customers direct flights to destinations with good business and leisure potential.
