Sharjah Museums Department organizes orientation tour for hotel staffs

- PRESS RELEASE
Staffs from Coral Beach Resort, Sharjah enjoyed a cultural day out last week, thanks to a Sharjah Museums Department orientation tour around the emirate's amazing array of museums.
The group visited 14 of the emirate's 17 impressive museums in one day, including those in the Sharjah Heritage Area (Heritage Museum; Bait Khalid Bin Ibrahim; Calligraphy Museum; Bait Al Naboodah; Al Eslah School Museum) as well as Sharjah Art Museum, Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, Al Mahatta Museum, Sharjah Archaeology Museum, Sharjah Science Museum, Sharjah Discovery Centre, Sharjah Aquarium and the newly opened Sharjah Maritime Museum, and the stunning Al Qasba, where the group enjoyed an abra trip and had a ride on the famous Etisalat - Eye of the Emirates ferris wheel.
For the six staff members who attended, it was their first opportunity to see all the museums in this manner — and they loved the whole day. Sabine Bolanz, Front Office Manager for Coral Beach Resort, Sharjah, said, 'It was just a perfect orientation session. Everything was amazingly organized, including transport, lunch, dinner and little give-aways.'
Bolanz said she believed this experience would prove invaluable to the Coral Beach team in their daily roles. 'It will definitely improve our operational skills, particularly with regard to guest relations, because we feel sufficiently well-versed in all the attractions Sharjah has to offer to make great recommendations to our guests,' she said.
'Sharjah is full of history and culture, but it's surprising how many people still don't know about this side of the emirate,' Bolanz continued.
'All the hotels here need to work together with Sharjah Museums Department and Sharjah Commerce Tourism Department Authority to promote it as a true cultural destination, so that visitors can come and see for themselves just how amazing the museums here are.'
'For us at Coral, it is very important that our staff can convey this as well as being able to respond helpfully and thoroughly to any guest enquiries about the area, so we feel the day tour was invaluable.'
Bolanz revealed that she was looking to arrange another similar orientation trip in conjunction with the Sharjah Museums Department, solely for Coral Beach Resort operational staff.
'We're hoping to set something up this month or even in August, before the season picks up and tourists start arriving,' she explained.
