Bahrain Air operates to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport

Bahrain Air, the first privately owned National Carrier of Bahrain with affordable fares in both Premium and Economy classes, celebrated the inaugural flight to Mumbai on Monday 6th July 2009.

The flight marks the launch of Bahrain Air's third Indian route destination..

Flight 2B517 was greeted at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport with a welcoming ceremony for the arriving delegation and at the gate and was accompanied by a number of officials from the Senior Management of Bahrain Air, which was led by Mr. Bart Schellens, Director of Commercial Operations, Mr. A.Aziz Al Shaer Manger Security and Corporate Affairs and other officials. On this occasion, Bahrain Air celebrated at Mumbai and held a small function organized on 7th July 09 by Bahrain Air for the inauguration of their direct flights, wherein senior Bahrain Air officials, Airport officials, GSA officials, Travel Agents officials and the local media were invited to attend.

Addressing the guests present at the press conference, Mr. Bart, said:
"We are excited about our third destination launch in India. Starting nonstop services from Mumbai, the largest financial hub of India to Bahrain is a part of our strategic outlook for the Indian market and we are very bullish about the growth prospects here. I would also like to thank all the officials of the Indian Civil Aviation Authority for the support and assistance offered to Bahrain Air, as our airline has experienced dynamic progress, & it is of key importance for us not only to offer new routes and services, but also to become more easily available to our customers. We are introducing new services, at the same time launching new destinations; this reflects the company's determined objectives of expanding, moreover to strengthen and to provide the best service for travellers flying on Bahrain Air."

Aziz AlShaer, Manager, Security and Corporate Affairs said: "The relationship between Bahrain and India has been a long-standing one and we are happy to announce that Bahrain Air has launched a successful service to Mumbai with daily flights for the benefit and convenience of our passengers. We hope to serve passengers across the board, be it the business traveler, the leisure traveler or those visiting their families". He further added, "We are very pleased to be able to serve the large Indian community by offering affordable and comfortable means of travel between Bahrain and Mumbai."
