The participants were divided into more than 10 different recreational programmes under the leadership of a group of professional trainers.

Alba Chief Executive Ahmed Saleh Al Noaimi visited the Alba Club on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, and acquainted himself with the activities of the Summer Programme 2009.

During his visit, he met with the young participants, trainers and the administrative staff who are supervising the programme. He urged them to get the maximum benefit from the summer programme which aims at creating an ideal educational and recreational atmosphere for Alba employee's children as part of the Company's corporate social responsibility.

"Continuing to invest in human development programmes is one of our priorities, which enhance development and promote progress at the work place. This must reflect positively on all our employees if we create such educational and recreational programmes for their children that encourage them to make the best use of their summer vacation and learn new things in life that broaden their capabilities and skills in various fields,"

remarked Mr. Al-Noaimi.

The Head of Alba Club, Yousuf Hatem Sultan said: "Alba Summmer Programme for 2009 returned after a two year hiatus due to the expansion work at the Club, which is the most advanced sports club in the Kingdom. The Club incorporates state of the art sports facilities and is provided with modern equipment needed by Alba employees and their families who enjoy the summer programme at the Club."

He added: "Alba pays due attention to social partnership, and it is keen for this summer programme to be holistic, producing the desired results for its participants. We have made all efforts necessary to realise this objective by involving professional trainers in all programmes. These trainers are supported by assistants who previously participated in Alba summer programmes and thus have the necessary experience, expertise and knowledge of rules and regulations governing such programmes.

Alba has been consistently ranked as one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world and is known for its technological strength and innovative policies. It supports numerous community oriented programmes and social activities that have underlined its status as one of Bahrain's leading industrial organisations that remains fully committed to its corporate social responsibility.
