The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority accompanied by Ali E. Alshaqoosh Al Mueen, Acting CEO of Ajman Bank and a number of key Ajman Bank employees. The branch in Sharjah is the third to be opened this year, and the first to be opened outside Ajman demonstrating the Bank's plans to expand across the UAE. Further branches are expected to open their doors later this year.

To mark the start of its new operations in Sharjah, the bank will also be hosting open days at the branch during the month of July, giving both individuals and companies in the local area the opportunity to come and explore what the Bank has to offer. Visitors will be introduced to staff and be offered the chance to discuss their various requirements, learning about the products and services available to them.

The Bank has also established a new call centre to answer customer queries regarding the new branch on toll free number 80022. The open days will provide a great way for the local community to really get to know the Bank's employees, working to deliver upon Ajman Bank's core principle of excellent customer service and supporting their intention to bring back the human touch lost in modern banking.

The opening of this latest branch is one of many activities currently under way, all geared towards the Bank's branch network expansion. With more branches soon to open, Ajman Bank is also increasing the number of ATM's it has across the Emirates, which currently stand at nine, whilst also seeking out new partnerships, set to both expand its services to customers through new payment centers or generate more business contributing to its healthy liquidity position. Its increasing portfolio of products and services are soon to be on offer through its branches which are expected to open in the Emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, contributing further to the steady growth and increase numbers of customers in future.

Acting CEO Ali E Alshaqoosh Al Mueen commented on the opening, saying,

"As the first Ajman Bank branch outside Ajman, this is a great day for us. Our ambition has always been to be the favorite Islamic bank in the UAE and the opening of this new branch in Sharjah brings us a step closer to this goal. We are very proud to have Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority with us today to represent the community we look forward to serving."
