The session focused on understanding the PR discipline and its vital role in the communications mix as a means to maximize visibility and publicity for brands.

"With marketing spends shrinking by the day; our clients are demanding a more cost-effective means to maintain ties with their consumers. PR is an ideal discipline for crunch time and sessions such as these help clients better understand how they may leverage it to their advantage."

said Georges Aoun, Managing Director, Memac Ogilvy Egypt,

Commenting on the training was Tarek Lasheen, Memac Ogilvy's PR Director in Egypt, "One of the key elements discussed and elaborated on through this training was the changing role of PR in the new digital era."

Lasheen elaborated on learnings from PR practice in the industry from both a strategic and tactical perspective and emphasized: "PR is one of the most effective and underutilized tools in the industry - a status that is changing dramatically with the global economic crisis."

"We hope that through exercises of the sort, the positive impact of PR is highlighted and the market better understands the various tools and portals which may help to not only promote products and services but also maintain the level of awareness and visibility," added Lasheen.
