Gulf Air hosts technology meeting in Bahrain

Gulf Air, the national airline of Bahrain, Oman and the UAE, hosted a meeting between member airlines of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) and Sabre Holdings Corporation on the planned introduction of the Sabre WiseVision market analysis system.

The meeting took place at the airline's headquarters in the Kingdom of Bahrain recently.

"As an existing and well established user of Sabre WiseVision, Gulf Air has been part of a working group since an initiative was put in place to introduce such sophisticated market analysis systems to AACO member airlines in order to facilitate the sales process within the airline industry in the region," said Fareed Al Alawi, Vice president Network Management, Gulf Air

During the meeting, senior executives from Kuwait Airways, Middle East Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Syrian Airways, and AACO discussed Sabre's plans for implementing the system and the necessary training that is required for their staff.

"As a leading provider of technology, distribution and marketing services for the travel industry, Sabre's WiseVision system will be of great benefit to AACO members as it enables airline staff to rapidly analyse and interpret large quantities of market data to support the sales process," added Mr Al Alawi.

About Gulf Air
Gulf Air was founded in 1950. Today, it is owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Oman and the UAE and is the only truly pan Gulf carrier in the region. The airline's network stretches from Europe to Asia and covers 43 cities in 32 countries. The fleet is one of the most modern in the Middle East and comprises 30 aircraft.

The airline is in its first year of a three-year strategic recovery programme, headed by President & Chief Executive, James Hogan. The airline's aim is to further evolve by taking its renowned cultural strengths, which have been gained over more than half a century, into a global environment.

Gulf Air is also intent on 'going the extra mile' for its customers. It has subsequently made a concerted effort to focus on efficiency, to eliminate bureaucracy and implement processes that are required, above all, to improve customer satisfaction.
