Philips Pixel Plus chosen best TV in consumer study

Not only did the consumers choose the ultra-high-resolution Pixel Plus TV as the overall best, but they also ranked it far ahead of the other TVs in the specific categories of picture detail, picture clarity and depth, motion smoothness and motion sharpness.

The test was conducted on 302 consumers shopping at the Deira City Centre Mall in Dubai. The three televisions that were used in the test were the Philips Pixel Plus 29PT9420, the Sony VR29M97 and the Panasonic TC29P250X. None of the TV brands were disclosed to participants until after the test was completed.

Philips'newly released Pixel Plus technology doubles the horizontal resolution of standard TVs and increases vertical resolution. The result is a breathtaking picture of over two million pixel resolution per frame. This means amazingly sharp pictures with clear and natural detail for all types of input - from normal TV and VCR to DVD.
