- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's (DTCM) press office facilities at the Dubai world Cup to be held on 29th March are being hailed as a great convenience.
DTCM Director Operations and Marketing, Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb said, "The Dubai World Cup is an internationally popular event and every year the event is growing bigger in terms of the number of visitors as well as participants.
"Sponsoring the press office and erecting a temporary miniature Heritage Village at a venue brimming with international visitors and big names in varied fields, will show the department's farsightedness and commitment in promoting tourism. This way, we have catered to interests of two different kinds," said Mr. bin Hareb.
About 220 foreign and 380 local journalists and photographers will cover the event. "Such a large number of media covering the event points to the international exposure and attention the event is receiving. All these add to popularizing the destination with our press office acting as a base to promote and highlight the activities, amenities and services of the emirate," said Mr. bin Hareb.
DTCM Deputy Manager Events, Marwan bin Beyat said, "This is the eighth consecutive time we are sponsoring the Press Office at the Dubai World Cup. It serves as the hub of activities and the main source of information for scribes covering the event.
"The Press Office could accommodate about 250 journalists and photographers and has state-of the art equipment, therefore communication can be established with any part of the world in no time," said Mr. bin Beyat.
Speaking about the temporary miniature Heritage Village, Mr. bin Mejren remarked: "The Heritage Village will provide the visitors a peep into the UAE's rich history and how Dubai has preserved its ancient traditions and valuable past."
DTCM Manager, Hatta Heritage Village, Khalid Ali explained that the miniature Heritage Village will provide a glimpse of the lifestyle of Bedouins, "The 20 sq. m will have tents made of goat skin and wool (Bait Al Shaar) and a Majilis (sitting area for guests) made of Palm tree branches. There will be Bedouins, who will make handicrafts and cook traditional Arabic food. All these will revive the atmosphere of Dubai's
mystical past and promises to entertain visitors with something completely different from what they have previously come across," said Mr. Ali.
The temporary miniature Heritage Village at Nad Al Sheba will be open to the public from 3pm to 10 pm on Saturday, 29th March.
