- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 30 - 2003 at 11:21
- PRESS RELEASE
Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading international IT vendor, has announced a new LIFEBOOK S series ultra-slim notebook, offering more power and extended battery life for the wireless mobile office.
The LIFEBOOK S6120 notebook is based on Intel Centrino mobile technology, which offers a secure wireless platform that delivers optimum performance with reduced power consumption and enables wide-area, local-area and personal-area networks.
"The new LIFEBOOK notebooks take mobile computing to highly innovative levels with a host of leading edge applications," said Jacquie Carson, Sales & Marketing Director, Middle East, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "The LIFEBOOK S-series notebooks will dramatically change the expectations consumers have of laptops, enabling them to draw more benefit, whether for professional or personal use."
The LIFEBOOK S6120 notebooks offer breakthrough performance when the user is away from the office or home with easy functionality for video, audio and graphics. They are designed to cater to the needs of the user's multi-tasking, continuous computing lifestyle, and easy adaptability to the demands of future applications.
Extended battery is another advanced feature of the new LIFEBOOK series. This is achieved through intelligent power distribution and a new power-optimized logic design. The new technology supplies power to components only when needed. As a result, power consumption is reduced, whilst heating of the processor is concentrated and the user gets greater mobility.
"The LIFEBOOK S series notebooks fit efficiently into Fujitsu Siemens Computers' strategy for future growth which will be driven by the twin pillars of Mobility and Business Critical Computing," said Carson. "Globally, the market for ultra portable laptops is growing at 17 per cent annually. We are positive these new notebooks will expand our market share in the Middle East where the demand for our industry-leading products has been growing at a rapid pace."
The LIFEBOOK S6120 will be available in two versions. The standard version comes without wireless options based on the Intel Pentium M processor at 1.40 GHz. The advanced version comes with integrated Bluetooth/Wirelsss LAN and Intel Pentium M processor at 1.40 GHz or 1.60 GHz. The modular bay accepts a CD, DVD and Combo Drive (DVD/CD-R/RW) as well as a DVD burner (+R/RW), a second hard disk for data backup or a second battery life.
