  • PRESS RELEASE

Sony Gulf announced the launch of the latest addition to the highly reputed notebook brand - VAIO: the VAIO W-series (VPCW115XG/P, T, W), the new real-wide netbook.

This new series will be available in the Middle East region later this year.

The new VAIO W series netbooks weigh a mere 1.19kg and is available in a spectacular collection of three salient colours - brown, white and pink. A subtle shade of the exterior hue finishes the inside, while the touch-pad is lined with a splash of brightness.

Elegant from every angle with a smooth flat top and soft rounded corners, the VAIO W-series has been designed to fit perfectly in your hands, making it easy to carry around. Its premium design, colour options and wireless network function bring together mobility, style and usability. The netbook is perfect for surfing the web, checking e-mail and social networking, indoors or outdoors.

The VAIO W-series is equipped with a 160GB hard disk drive, providing users with ample storage capacity for documents, photos, music and video libraries, as well as other applications. It comes with a pre-installed Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system.

The 10.1-inch LED backlit display and 1366 x 768 high resolution screen facilitate easy viewing and navigation of web pages with a side window that enables users to chat or place their widgets. When online, a built-in webcam and microphone enables hands-free calls with family, friends and colleagues.

The keyboard of the VAIO W-series has been designed for comfort and control, allowing convenient typing with both hands. Its carefully designed touch-pad and mouse keys make the netbook functional and easy to use.

The VAIO Media plus software allows speedy access to music, videos and photos. It also allows easy transfer of data such as photos from digital camera or music from an MP3 player to and from the laptop's two well-placed USB ports.

A full range of VAIO accessories from stylish carry cases to a variety of mouse options designed to maximize style and performance are also available for the VAIO W-series.
