This agreement between DSCSA and the ASA is unique in the GCC and will ensure that Dubai will be at the forefront of the all aquatic disciplines utilising the Swimming Academy's facilities at Dubai Sports City.

This partnership adds to the family of Dubai Sports City academies which deliver accredited development pathways and coaching education opportunities to sports enthusiasts of Dubai.

Jeff O'Brien, Academies Manager, says:
"These strategic partnerships underpin the basis of our delivery philosophy and ensure a unique experience for those within all of our coaching programs."

According to Seth Chappels, Swimming Academy Manager, "We are delighted to be working in partnership with the ASA, who have built an outstanding reputation as the English National Governing Body for Swimming, and their knowledge and experience will add considerable value to the courses being delivered at the Dubai Sports City Swimming Academy."

Dubai Sport City's Swimming Academy will be a resource for swimmers of all ages, levels and abilities, and is open to anyone who wishes to improve their swimming technique as well as their general fitness.

"One of our key goals is to broaden the involvement of swimming within the community by offering a wide range of programs through education and swimmer development in a state-of-the-art facility with accredited ASA coaches and teachers. These programmes will cater to every level of age and ability," says Seth Chappels.

The Swimming Academy at Dubai Sports City is offering a number of programmes designed to develop water safety awareness, movement skills and basic swimming skills in young swimmers, ensuring children are 'water safe' and have the opportunity develop as athletes through the swim programs.

DSCSA are currently offering a range of schools programmes across Dubai catering directly for young children. All the programmes are unique to DSCSA and follow ASA's guidelines and teaching practices.

"What we are committed to delivering at Dubai Sports City is the perfect environment for young swimmers to learn the basic skills from accredited ASA swim coaches and create a clear road map for both parents and children to follow, that they can then use to track their progress throughout the duration of their swim programme and athlete development."

In addition to the Swimming Academy, Dubai Sports City will also include academies for football (home of the Manchester United Soccer School, Dubai), rugby and hockey (FIH WorldHockey Academy), as well as the ICC Global Cricket Academy, the Butch Harmon School of Golf and the David Lloyd Tennis Academy.

Each academy will provide a world-class training base for international and UAE athletes, while also offering the perfect environment for local grassroots leagues and coaching.
