The MC17 mobile computer is a third-generation solution created for retail environments, including mass merchandisers, grocery department stores, and pharmacy outlets. The MC17 empowers customers to speed-up the checkout process, locate items, check pricing, find complementary products, and receive personal recommendations and tailored promotions.

The MC17 can also serve as an associate productivity tool providing store employees with access to a variety of applications for inventory management, price verification and line busting. In addition, the MC17 can be used for gift registry in department and specialty stores.

Motorola's long history of innovation and commitment to providing retail customers worldwide with solutions to meet increasing customer demands is demonstrated through products such as the MC17 mobile computer.

The MC17 is based on the Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 operating system, providing a known, user-friendly and intuitive interface for both customers and retail associates. Support for the powerful PocketBrowser from Motorola enables developers to build robust mobile applications that integrate enterprise functionality, such as bar code scanning and mobile printing, without complex coding requirements or CE programming expertise.

"Mobility in retail is a crucial part of our business, and as a leading retailer in the Middle East, LuLu Hypermarket - part of EMKE Group - must increase sales, lower costs and deliver unparalleled customer satisfaction. With the implementation of Motorola solutions including the MC 3090 handheld computers, LS 2208 scanners and Motorola wireless LAN, LuLu Hypermarket has witnessed strong results in all areas over the past years, and is very interested in the MC17 device and the benefits that it brings to the customer shopping experience,"
