The innovative solution was unveiled during a Rational Software Conference in Riyadh. The new solution, based on the Jazz collaborative technology platform and built on IBM's Cognos business intelligence software, deploys flexible business processes to improve cross-organizational collaboration - which goes a long way in viewing investments in software as strategic business assets.

Fadi Fawal Sales Manager; SBM Software Group, said:
"As we find ourselves in an unprecedented economic turbulence in the Middle East, the regional businesses are looking for new solutions to derive greater value from their investments in software. IBM is committed to helping them make the right decisions and improve the successful outcomes of this newly emerging business process discipline."

During the Rational Software Conference, SBM/IBM also demonstrated the IBM Rational Software Delivery Services for the Cloud Computing - a new set of services for designing, testing and deploying software assets for cloud computing - cloud computing is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable business applications and services are provided by subscription over the internet. By utilizing cloud computing, users are no longer required to manage and maintain costly and complex IT infrastructure that supports their operations, enabling them to focus more on their core businesses and objectives. other benefits include scalability, reliability and lower overall IT costs. This also helps organizations minimize costs while freeing up resources for investments in new projects.

SBM/IBM also introduced IBM Rational Focal Point for Project Management, a new solution designed to reduce the delays and mistakes that hinder software projects from meeting the needs of the business.

"Partnering with SBM has further helped IBM extend its reach in this important region," said Andrew Farrant, Sales Manager, World Trade Middle East, IBM Rational Software. "Through these new software and services introduced at the Rational Software Conference, IBM and SBM will help clients in the Middle East to better treat the software that they build or assemble as a strategic business asset. As a result, they will be able to improve the outcomes of their software and systems projects."
