Co-Op Islami participates in exhibition at inauguration of Dubai Investments Park

Co-Op Islami, the Gulf's leading supplier of pure Halal meat products, has participated in a special exhibition to mark the inauguration of Dubai Investments Park on March 29.

Dubai Investments Park, the region's only fully integrated investment zone that is being developed and managed entirely by the private sector, was inaugurated by His Highness, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Industry.

Following the inauguration of Dubai Investments Park, HH Sheikh Hamdan also visited the Co-Op Islami stall at the exhibition which was organized by the Park to showcase the products of 24 local and international companies.

Mr. Saleh Saeed Lootah, Managing Director of Co-Op Islami, said: "Co-Op Islami is proud to be associated with a massive development project like Dubai Investments Park, which has been created to support the vision of the Dubai government to make the emirate a world-class hub for trade, finance and investment. Our presence at Dubai Investments Park is part of our long-term development strategy based on the special production and marketing concepts that are designed to attract more customers and further enhance our profile regionally and internationally.

He added: "Co-Op Islami will shortly move its head offices to Dubai Investments Park that will help us market our high quality and real Halal products more aggressively in existing and new markets. By constantly improving our production and marketing strategies we aim to provide a diverse range of high quality and Halal products for our loyal customers. This is reflected by the launch of Aladdin, the first complete range of frozen food for children to be introduced to the Gulf, and the production of cheese and frozen shrimps products."

Co-Op Islami was set up by the Dubai Cooperative Society in 1981 to provide genuine halal meat products as per Islamic methods. After starting with frozen chicken, Co-Op Islami expanded to provide burgers, sausages, kebabs and minced meat. In 1991 the Co-op Islami plant, boasting state-of-the-art technology, was set up in Jebel Ali Free Zone. New machinery has recently been introduced to further enhance production and quality.

The company's commitment to quality was recognised when it became the only factory in the UAE to achieve HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification in 2001 in addition to receiving the ISO 9001 and other certifications.
