As a result of this rush towards marginally lower pricing, declining service levels are often experienced.
HSCS is gaining business on the basis that in an economy heavily dependent on imports, a few days saved is often the difference between their clients meeting their service commitments or not.
Experience shows that delays and added costs will decrease, while service levels will increase, if the processes of customs clearance, transportation, and in some cases warehousing, are all integrated for either inbound or outbound supply chains. HSCS has therefore created a supply chain forwarding and clearing system that offers the widest range of potential services to include:
- Freight Forwarding / Shipping
- Import and export cargo port safety handling services
- Customs clearance
- Customs clearance facilities in Dammam/Riyadh and Jeddah.
- Export/import by air, sea and overland
- Consolidation services - air/sea/overland
- Air/sea charter
- FCL/LCL Services
- NVOCC Services
- Project handling including heavy-lift cargo/units transportation
- Transshipments through ports of Jeddah and Dammam
- Warehousing and distribution facilities in Dammam/Riyadh/Jeddah
- Trucks services throughout Saudi Arabia.
- Inland transportation (on-carriage) Saudi Borders.
"Given that a large proportion of consumables in the KSA come from outside the country, the ability to improve inbound supply chains can significantly improve the capability of a company to service its customers and to compete. In order to minimise the impact of possible delays when forwarding and clearing cargo, it is vital that all aspects within the control of the relevant logistics company are completed correctly the first time, and every time,"
said HSCS Forwarding and Clearing General Manager Agiel Angawi.
HSCS' ability to track and trace both internationally and locally obviously helps.
HSCS offers its forwarding and clearing services in three locations in the Kingdom, specifically Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam. Terminal facilities are also available in these three cities so that goods may be consolidated for onward distribution in the Kingdom.
"HSCS' national but customised service allows for specific client requirements to be met, with solutions individually designed to meet the client's needs on a 24/7 basis. We can plan and implement an integrated and optimised process per shipment, at an appropriate and acceptable cost, with complete visibility, with clearing taking a maximum of just five working days," said Angawi.
