Qatar Development Bank, development sponsor of 12th Industrialists' Conference

Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has joined the companies and corporations supporting the 12th Industrialists' Conference and the Global Exhibition on Subcontracting and Partnership which will be convened during 22-24 November 2009 at the Exhibition Center, Doha.

QDB becomes the development sponsor of the Conference which already enjoys the sponsorship of: Qatar Petroleum (QP) as the strategic partner, Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) as the diamond sponsor, and the United Development Company (UDC) as the silver sponsor.

Qatar Development Bank plays an active role in the economic and industrial development of the State of Qatar by helping diversify its industrial base through promotion and financing of small and medium size industrial projects.

The 12th Conference will be held under the Patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani - Emir of the State of Qatar, and will deal with the issue of "Future of Industry in GCC States:2020". It will be organized by the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) in collaboration with Qatar Ministry for Energy & Industry and Ministry of Business and Trade, and in cooperation with the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), the Federation of the Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers (FGCCC), and Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The Industrialists' Conference has been the most prestigious of its kind in the GCC region since its inception in 1987. It is held every two years in a different country, and is attended by the six Ministers of Industry of the GCC countries. This worldwide event is usually attended by top-notch international speakers and renowned regional experts from all over the world.

Among the topics to be addressed by the 12th Conference: future industry In GCC countries vision 2020, the strategic initiatives in industrial policy formulation and co-ordination, projects financing and financial services, international cooperation in research and technology, industrial linkages and partnerships, new trends in supply chain management and industrial products and potential market.

Two exhibitions will be held during the Conference. The first addresses the requirements of the Gulf industrialists especially those related to small and medium industries, and the other deals with subcontracting and partnership activities - Petrochemicals and Plastics. Matchmaking and business to business meetings will be arranged by market specialists between suppliers, technology providers, buyers and investors.

More than two thousands matchmaking activities among Gulf companies, such as QP, Kahramaa and Bapco, and Gulf and international suppliers are expected during the Conference. Manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, investors and buyers will meet for three days to identify and build on the opportunities created by the new economic environment.
