DTCM's special needs team plans quality facilities for disabled people

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's (DTCM) task force catering to people with special needs, is planning an increase in the standard of facilities and further boosting tourism for the disabled in the emirate.
DTCM Deputy Manager, Marwan bin Beyat, who chaired the meeting said that the department is committed to boost tourism for disabled in the emirate. "This meeting gave us new ideas on ways to fulfill our commitment. It provided us a chance to update the visiting delegates about Dubai's facilities as well as future projects designed to cater to the disabled people. We also discussed with the visiting professionals some novel strategies and their accomplishments in this field," said Mr. bin Beyat.
The visiting delegation is responsible for operating a Sports and a Business Center for disabled people in South Africa. The Centre also provides job opportunities, business facilities for the people with special needs. "This is a noble work as such provisions and facilities help in boosting confidence of disabled persons by making them self dependent," concluded bin Beyat.
Chairman of the Disabled Travel Club, Ronald Coleman stressed that Dubai has tremendous potential to grow, as one of the top most destinations for the disabled and such exchange of ideas is useful in achieving the desired goal. "The meeting ended on a positive note and we will work in the co-operation with DTCM ion staging several sports events for disabled, which will be participated by athletes from South Africa as well as Dubai.
