CGC also presented sales authorization certificates to channel partners and announced a summer-chill out team excursion trip to the Philippines for selected partners.
Anil Mahajan, Chief Operating Officer and Tawfeeq Salem, Chief Financial Officer, were among CGC officials present at a grand gala in Ramada Hotel on Thursday to celebrate the occasion along with about 300 distinguished guests from channel partners, corporate leaders and media.
Altogether twelve awards, consisting of plaques, were presented by senior CGC officials to Nokia channel partners from across the country for their best performance in the past year. They also gave away certificates to channel partners authorizing them to sell original Nokia phones and accessories. CGC took this initiative of certifying them to ensure that customers get only authentic Nokia phones, accessories and spare parts from its vast network of partner outlets.
This will help further in ensuring full availability of original Nokia devices through certified channel partner outlets, besides CGC's own retail outlets through out the country.
Anil Mahajan, in his inaugural address, appreciated the CGC Nokia partners' efforts and assured them of the company's continued support and guidance to meet customers' needs. He said,

It's time to celebrate and laud our partners for their best efforts to achieve excellence in Nokia businesses and emerge winner as a team. The Annual Partners Excellence Awards are presented to recognize their contribution and services to customers."

It's a reward as well as a challenge for us to command and continue to maintain leadership position in the Qatari market. We thank our valued customers for their support and trust and reiterate our commitment to work overtime to meet their requirements offering the latest and the best Nokia products and services."
He also elaborated on the company's vision and steps that have been taken for the benefit of both customers and dealer partners, including the opening of a showroom and Nokia Care Center at Lulu in Al Gharrafa and the upgrading of services at the Main CGC Nokia Care Center at Al Merqab, allocating exclusive Nokia Care Center for dealer partners to ensure better after-sales support.
CGC is also working to have more showrooms and service centers so as to offer Nokia products and services in people's vicinity, he added.
Congratulating the winning partners, Tawfeeq Salem said, "The Annual Partners Excellence Awards reflect CGC's belief in our valued customers and partners. Such gathering provides us occasion to mingle and find ways and means to make our bond stronger and improve services in the best interest of Nokia customers. It is our duty to help customers come what may. Making the celebration unforgettable for the dealers, he announced a fun and frolic team trip for 15 selected partners to the Philippines. The proceedings also included quiz programme and entertainment in which audience won gifts for answering correctly. A variety of Arabic and Sub-continental cuisines were dished out to the distinguished guests.
Among a host of best performing CGC Nokia dealer nominees, Ghasham Trading bagged the Best Over-all Sales Award, while Qatar Duty Free was presented with the Best Sales Award in Multimedia section. Best Sales Award in terms of value went to Carrefour Villagio while Dream Phones was adjudged the winner of the Best Sales Award for basic phones. The Best Enhancement Partner Award was given to Phone City, while Emax was honoured with Best Emerging Partner Award. The runner-ups in the respective categories were Carrefour at City Center, Thabthaba, Ghasham Trading, Skynet, Al Anees and Safari Hypermarket. The winners were decided on the basis of their overall annual performance.
Vineet Gupta, CGC Channel Sales Manager, gave the vote of thanks to the august gathering.
