Bapco environmental compliance gets latest seal of approval

Bapco's ongoing commitment towards environmental excellence has been reinforced following a successful audit of the Company's environmental management system (EMS) by international audit firm Bureau Veritas.

Bureau Veritas confirmed that the Bapco EMS was effectively implemented and maintained and met ISO14001 standard requirements.

ISO14001 is an internationally-recognised benchmark against which an organisation's EMS compliance is measured. Bapco received the prestigious ISO14001 certification in December 2008.

The surveillance audit was carried out on the Company's low sulphur diesel production (LSDP) complex, sulphur handing facilities, Technical Services Department and Environmental Affairs Department.

Bureau Veritas will carry out the next Bapco surveillance audit in December 2009.
