To always deliver a high standard of pleasingly different service for its customers, Nawras is investing substantial time and money in developing professional people.

The growing Nawras team is comprised of a successful blend of international professional expertise and local understanding of the rich culture of the Sultanate.

The company adopts the responsibility to coach and spread knowledge both in-house to employees and externally to students from many educational establishments around the country.

Every year Nawras welcomes a number of trainees from different colleges and universities and is currently in the midst of training 30 students. Their enriching experience began when applications were sent to Nawras and interviews conduced by the human resource department.

The successful candidates were then distributed between different company departments depending on their individual areas of interest and study. Some students joined the marketing team while others joined engineering and customer service. A detailed training programme is followed to ensure that all the students get the maximum benefit of their training period with Nawras

Nasriya Bint Nasser Al-Lamki, head of people resourcing said:
"Training programmes at Nawras give an opportunity for students to get useful practical experience to add to their theoretical knowledge. It is also considered important for us as a contribution to Nawras' mission to be the best communications provider and employer of choice in Oman.€

Nawras regularly gets closer to students and takes pleasure in actively sponsoring open days, sports competitions, students' projects and more at the Sultanate's different colleges and universities, throughout the year.

Nawras employees also benefit from a range of effective training programmes the results of which reflect in their professional performance and give them the ability to work to international standards in Oman's telecommunication sector. Global, regional and local awards have acknowledged the excellent standards achieved. The last awards received were for the Middle East Call Centre of the Year 2009, Middle East Best Career and Skill Path 2009 and Middle East Best Retention and Motivation 2009. All three accolades are a result of the care Nawras takes of its people who in turn take great care of their customers.

Back in 2005 Nawras launched with just 250 enthusiastic people, the majority of whom had no mobile company experience whatsoever. In contrast, today Nawras directly employs over 700 professionals who are living the customer experience every day. Through the consistent development of people and by constantly investing in its talent pool, Nawras now has some of the finest telecom professionals to be found anywhere.

Nawras currently covers 96% of the population with its reliable EDGE network and over 40% with its trusted 3G+ network.
