Dubai Customs has created a 24/7 customs inspection section in three significant locations of international courier companies' branches in Dubai; DHL, Fedex and UBS. Customs inspectors are present in these locations to perform inspection operations for goods and parcels on the spot and without any delay.
Mr. Mohammed Mattar Al Marri said:
"This section is aimed to facilitate movement and delivery operations for courier companies. It also helps save time, effort and cost while transferring goods and packages from a place to another to finalize inspection and check-up procedures inline with the Department's policy of accelerating the clearance transaction procedures, delivering goods and parcels as fast as possible. Such a measure will undoubtedly increase customers' satisfaction, enhance their trust in the Department and support smooth trade movement in Dubai."
Mr. Bachisio Spiga, however, praised Dubai Customs for the great role it plays in the field of customer service, facilitating customers' businesses and making strategic partnership with them. He considered creating the customs inspection sections inside companies' headquarters as a leading step forward, especially for courier companies whose business is all about quick transfer and delivery of goods and parcels.
At the end of the visit, Mr. Al Marri handed DHL Company with a memorial gift, praising the company's cooperation with the Department as one of its strategic partners and its full commitment to the implementation of Dubai customs policies and procedures.
