"Our focus is to ensure that Galileo users in Yemen have all the tools required to take charge of their future growth and success,
said Jennifer D'Souza, Commercial Director, Middle East, Travelport GDS.
"That is why it is important that we not only continue to deliver the best products to them, but equip them with the on-going support and training that they need."
Four sessions were conducted to highlight the salient features of key products currently being rolled out by Travelport across the region, including web-based solutions such as e-Tracker and View Trip, desktop solutions like Journey Tracker, and fares and pricing tools such as Galileo Fee Manager. Agents were also given an overview of the GDS provider's latest hotel and car offering.
"This road show was the first of its kind in Yemen and the product knowledge that the travel agents have gained from the event is invaluable," said Halim Aman, General Manager of Universal Travel, Travelport's operator in Yemen.
"As a result, they now have a much greater awareness of the full functionality and content of the GDS and will be better able to leverage all the benefits of the Galileo system."
Travelport has been hosting dedicated workshops across the Middle East to educate the travel trade on its latest range of products and services, and will continue to work closely with Galileo-connected agents to train them on both the traditional and advanced features of the GDS.
Travelport's product roadshow follows Universal Travel's successful launch of its new office in Aden, a milestone that was recently celebrated at the Gold Mohur resort with 75 travel agents from across the country, as well as representatives from Yemen's national carrier, Yemenia.
