According to Informa, the number of mobile subscribers is expected to reach 5,500 million worldwide by 2013 and mobile broadband subscribers will jump to 1,600 million.
That's a 52% compound annual growth rate. The exploding voice and data traffic as well as the increasing demand for converged services are posing a major challenge for local telecom operators.
"That's why we are working with telecom providers on a new vision of highly efficient and flexible next generation technology that will bring down total cost of ownership and provide a better experience for consumers."said Mr. Wang Jiading, Vice President, Middle East & North Africa Regional Division, Huawei Technologies.
Based on ATCA, a future telecom platform, Huawei's new generation Core Network Solutions are key to service improvement and give a head-start advantage for operators in clinching new market opportunities and increasing revenues.
Huawei's week long roadshow has provided a comprehensive introduction to Huawei's latest Core Network elements such as Mobile Softswitch, IPN2.0, Next Generation HLR and IMS, through live demonstration of equipment and tailored customer workshop.
"By attending our roadshow telecommunication providers were given a clear picture of how they can optimise voice quality, boost mobile broadband and stimulate new value-added services for their consumers, all whilst maintaining profitability," added Mr. Wang Jiading.
